[HICAC 2025] Workshop "Emerging trends and recommendations for resolving construction disputes efficiently: Practices in Vietnam International Arbitration Centre"
Mar 27, 2025The construction industry is rapidly developing with numerous large-scale projects, leading to an increase in disputes within the sector. According to statistics from the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), construction disputes continued to account for a significant proportion in 2024, ranking second among the areas of disputes handled and resolved at VIAC. Most of these disputes involve large-scale projects, complex circumstances, and multiple technical factors. Given the aforementioned situation and the evolving landscape of arbitration, dispute resolution in the construction sector has witnessed several emerging trends in recent times. These trends are expected to bring positive impacts to the arbitration process; however, they also pose significant challenges for arbitral tribunals, arbitration institutions, and involved parties in swiftly adapting to ensure effective coordination and procedural management.

VIAC joins the MAXWELL CONNECTher Initiative to spotlight Women Arbitrators in the Asia Pacific region

MAXWELL CONNECT her is a dedicated initiative that acknowledges and honors female arbitrators residing in the Asia-Pacific region who are members of the region’s esteemed arbitration institutions.

Mar 18, 2025On the morning of February 20 th , 2025 , the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) met with Mr. Nguyen Khanh Ngoc, President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association on the occasion of the Association’s new Executive Board appointment for the 2024–2029 term. Discussion focused on organizational activities and future potential areas of collaboration, with an emphasis on the development and revision of the Law on Arbitration, led by the Vietnam Lawyers Association.
