In a constantly evolving economic landscape, promptly updating legal changes has become essential for businesses to proactively adjust strategies, optimize resources, and minimize risks in investment projects. To assist investors in keeping up with key developments from several new regulations including Law No.57/2024/QH15, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), is organizing the Seminar “Law No.57/2024/QH15 on amendments to the Law on Planning, Law on Investment, Law on Public-Private partnership investment and Law on Bidding & new policies on investment activities”  

Ho Chi Minh City International Construction Arbitration Conference – HICAC 2025

Building on the success of the 2024 event, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and the Society of Construction Law – Viet Nam (SCLVN) co-organize the Ho Chi Minh City International Construction Arbitration Conference – HICAC 2025. This year’s Conference main theme is “Raising the Bar: Enhancing Quality in Dispute Resolution for Vietnam’s Construction Projects – Bridging International Expertise with Domestic Practice”.

[HICAC 2025] Workshop "Emerging trends and recommendations for resolving construction disputes efficiently:  Practices in Vietnam International Arbitration Centre"

The construction industry is rapidly developing with numerous large-scale projects, leading to an increase in disputes within the sector. According to statistics from the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), construction disputes continued to account for a significant proportion in 2024, ranking second among the areas of disputes handled and resolved at VIAC. Most of these disputes involve large-scale projects, complex circumstances, and multiple technical factors. Given the aforementioned situation and the evolving landscape of arbitration, dispute resolution in the construction sector has witnessed several emerging trends in recent times. These trends are expected to bring positive impacts to the arbitration process; however, they also pose significant challenges for arbitral tribunals, arbitration institutions, and involved parties in swiftly adapting to ensure effective coordination and procedural management.

VIAC joins the MAXWELL CONNECTher Initiative to spotlight Women Arbitrators in the Asia Pacific region

In March 2025, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) has supported the MAXWELL CONNECT her Initiative, launched by MAXWELL Chambers from 2024. MAXWELL CONNECT her is a dedicated initiative that acknowledges and honors female arbitrators residing in the Asia-Pacific region who are members of the region’s esteemed arbitration institutions.

VIAC met with President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association Nguyen Khanh Ngoc

On the morning of February 20 th , 2025 , the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) met with Mr. Nguyen Khanh Ngoc, President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association on the occasion of the Association’s new Executive Board appointment for the 2024–2029 term. Discussion focused on organizational activities and future potential areas of collaboration, with an emphasis on the development and revision of the Law on Arbitration, led by the Vietnam Lawyers Association.

VIAC organized the 2025 Arbitrators & Mediators Meeting in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

On February 22 nd and March 1 st , 2025, the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) organized the 2025 Arbitrators & Mediators Meeting in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The event aimed to foster networking and engagement among VIAC’s Arbitrators and Mediators, and provide an overview of VIAC’s activities in 2024.
