HANOI, Vietnam - On 14th September 2023, the delegation of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) had a meeting and working session with the newly-appointed Korean Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam – Mr. Choi Youngsam. At the meeting, Dr. Vu Tien Loc – Chairman and President of VIAC, congratulated Mr. Choi Youngsam on his new position.
Prior to his accreditation, Mr. Choi Youngsam had served as the assistant in charge of political affairs to the Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs. Moreover, he had frequently appeared in media as the spokesman for the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With his seasoned experience in external affairs matters in general and years of experience in East Asian affairs specifically, Dr. Vu Tien Loc looked forward to his contribution to developing the Vietnam–Korean relationship.
The delegation of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and the National Association of Entrepreneurship (VINEN) had a meeting and working session with Mr. Choi Youngsam - newly- accredited Korean Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam
As a newly accredited Ambassador, Mr. Choi Youngsam shared that 2023 marked the 31st anniversary of the Vietnam-Korea diplomatic relations establishment. In the past years, the two nations have been cooperating in most of the sectors, and Vietnam has established its position as Korea’s key partner in Korea’s cooperative relation with ASEAN and in India – Pacific region, which effectively assists Korea in contributing to this region. Following up on that, the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, expressed its will to execute more proactive and creative diplomatic activities to upgrade the bilateral relations in the future on the grounds of the past fruitful cooperation between countries.
Overview of the meeting
In the working session, Dr. Vu Tien Loc expressed his delight in the fierce development of Vietnam-Korea commercial relations. He emphasized the potential cooperation and encouraged reciprocal assistance in multilateral fora, especially assistance to Vietnam in science and technology, semiconductors, innovation, green economy, digital economy, digital transformation, sustainable energy, smart cities, ecological cities; high-tech agriculture, marine economic development; strengthening supply chain cooperation and establish Korean research & development center in Vietnam.
On behalf of VIAC as the sole arbitration centre established by the Prime Minister’s Decision and has been operating to resolve domestic and international disputes, Dr. Vu Tien Loc reiterated VIAC’s effort to assist the enterprise community in investment and business. Accordingly, VIAC is looking forward to being a partner of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, particularly in promoting commercial landscape and enhancing justice for enterprises in the two countries.
