VIAC Delegation worked and signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre (Hong Kong, China)

From October 21st to 24th, 2025, the delegation from the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) conducted a working visit to Hong Kong (China). As part of the visit, on the morning of October 23rd, 2025, the delegation held a meeting with the eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre (eBRAM) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the two institutions.

Continuing the working agenda, on the morning of October 23rd, 2025, the VIAC delegation had a meeting and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre – a non-profit organization operating in the fields of arbitration, mediation, and legal technology (LawTech). The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Le Hong Hanh – President of VIAC, and Mr. Ronald Sum JP – Vice Chairman of eBRAM, witnessed by representatives from both organizations.

During the working session, the two sides exchanged experiences on the application of technology and digital platforms in dispute resolution. They also discussed potential areas of collaboration, including the development of joint initiatives for online arbitration platforms, personnel training and expertise sharing in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

Sharing insights on the application and development of online dispute resolution solutions, the eBRAM representative stated that the Centre is one of the nine qualified institutions under the Arrangement Concerning Mutual Assistance in Court-ordered Interim Measures in Aid of Arbitral Proceedings by the Courts of the Mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Additionally, eBRAM is among the six Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) providers recognized by APEC.

On the other hand, VIAC representatives shared about the Centre’s recent efforts in research, technology applications, and the development of online platforms to support dispute resolution. Notably, in 2024, VIAC officially launched and put into operation the VIAC eCase Online Case Management Platform. VIAC eCase aims to be an all-in-one integrated platform for electronic filing and online case management, improving the efficiency of arbitration proceedings in terms of both time and cost, hence enhancing the overall experience for arbitration users.

With a mutual vision of promoting arbitration and ADR for the benefit of global business and legal communities, especially amid the growing and irreversible trend of digital transformation in dispute resolution, VIAC and eBRAM agreed to strengthen cooperation and proceeded to formalize their partnership through the signing of the MoU.

This MoU marks an important milestone in the cooperative relationship between VIAC and eBRAM. Both parties expressed their commitment to building a long-term, effective, and substantive partnership, contributing to the development of a stable, transparent, and trustworthy legal environment that supports the business communities of Vietnam and Hong Kong (China).
