New Regulations on Ultimate Beneficial Owners: A Step Towards Transparency and Key Considerations for Foreign Investors
July 02, 2025From July 1, 2025, Vietnam will officially implement the regulation on “ Ultimate Beneficial Owners” (UBO) within the Law on amending and supplementing certain articles of the Law on Enterprises, marking a significant turning point in efforts to enhance corporate transparency and combat money laundering. However, this new regulation also poses some significant challenges, especially for foreign investors with complex ownership structures. The research was attended by Ms. Hoang Nguyen Ha Quyen, listed arbitrators of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and Listed Mediators of Vietnam Mediation Centre (VMC), and Ms. Ngo Thi Phuc Tam, Senior Associate.

Jun 23, 2025On June 16 th & 17 th , 2025, at its office in Hanoi, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) welcomed and held working sessions with a delegation from the Department of Justice of Guangzhou Province, China. The meeting focused on professional exchanges and discussions on international cooperation opportunities to promote the development of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) between Vietnam and China, as well as within the region.

Jun 10, 2025On the mornings of May 22 nd and 29 th , 2025, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) organized two VIAC & Lawyers Workshops in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The seminars focused on Consultation on Amendments to VIAC Rules of Arbitration regarding Constitution of Arbitral Tribunal & Guide to Online Case Management on VIAC eCase . The two workshops garnered significant interest and participation from lawyers, legal experts, professionals, and corporate representatives, many of whom have directly participated in arbitration proceedings before many arbitration bodies, including VIAC.
