VIAC joins as Academic Sponsor for the Vietnam Moot Court Competition – VMCC 2025

The Vietnam Moot Court Competition (VMCC) is launched in 2025 as a collaborative initiative between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi Law University, The Moot Club of Hanoi Law University and the Asian Law Students’ Association - National Chapter Vietnam. It is a premier platform designed exclusively for law students and those interested in law in Vietnam. It aims to provide a competitive arena where participants can deepen their understanding of commercial and investment disputes, hone their English mooting and debate skills, and engage with one of the most effective methods of resolving international disputes today – arbitration.

The Vietnam Moot Court Competition - VMCC 2025 offers students a unique opportunity to immerse in the intricacies of international arbitration, a critical skill in today's globalized legal landscape. Through simulated arbitration proceedings, participants will tackle complex disputes with international aspects, applying a wide range of legal knowledge from international commercial law, contract law, enterprise law to relevant international treaties. Acting as legal representatives for the involved parties, contestants will advocate for their client's rights and interests before an arbitral tribunal, showcasing not only their legal expertise but also their strategic thinking, persuasive argumentation, and ability to collaborate under pressure. 

The Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) is delighted to join as an Academic Sponsor for the Competition. At VMCC 2025, the VIAC offers its professional insight by providing realistic and practice-based moot problems, establishing rigorous and industry-aligned evaluation criteria, and involving seasoned arbitration practitioners in the judging process. VIAC ensures that the competition reflects the dynamic realities of international dispute resolution. 

The Official Timeline of the Vietnam Moot Court Competition (VMCC) 2025 is as follows: 

• Registration: May 20th, 2025 (Tuesday) - June 3rd, 2025 (Tuesday).  

• Release of Moot Problems and Rules: May 28th, 2025 (Wednesday). 

• Deadline for Submission and Memorandums: July 18th, 2025 (Friday). 

• Top 8 Result: August 6th, 2025 (Wednesday). 

• Online Elimination Round: August 16th, 2025 (Saturday). 

• In-person Semi-Final Round: August 23rd, 2025 (Saturday). 

• In-person Final Round, Awarding Ceremony & Closing Ceremony: August 24th, 2025 (Sunday). 

In-person rounds will be held at Hanoi Law University (HLU).
