The statement of claim is often likened to the foundation stone that defines the scope of dispute resolution and the procedural strategy in arbitration. In chain disputes, statements of claim are often successive and closely interconnected, requiring a more comprehensive and careful assessment in their resolution. In the context of real estate disputes, issues relating to statements of claim are regarded as one of the factors contributing to the increasing number and complexity of chain disputes. A typical example is the continuous expansion, amendment, or accumulation of claims across multiple proceedings to address outstanding losses or obligations that have not been fully performed.
