VIAC welcomes the Canadian Bar Association and VIST Project Delegation to explore cooperation opportunities

On the morning of 0 1 July 2026, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) welcomed a delegation from the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and the Management Board of the Vietnam Initiative for Strengthening Trade (VIST) Project at its headquarters for a working session to discuss potential areas of cooperation.

On the morning of 26 May 2026, as part of Vietnam ADR Week 2026 – VAW 2026, jointly organized by the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and the Vietnam Lawyers Association, the Seminar “ International Dispute Resolution in Times of Turbulence: Global Trends and Vietnam’s Emerging Role ” was successfully held in Hanoi. The event attracted a large number of participants from government agencies, international organizations, law firms, businesses, and domestic as well as international experts. Notably, nearly 20 arbitration and mediation institutions from across the region travelled to Vietnam to attend the Seminar.

On the morning of 25 May 2026, in Hanoi, the Vietnam ADR Week 2026 – VAW 2026 with the theme “Arbitration & ADR: Embracing New Heights” has officially commenced. The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and the Vietnam Lawyers Association . The Opening Ceremony of Vietnam Arbitration and ADR Week 2026 and the Launch of the VIAC Arbitration Rules 2026 successfully kicked off the week-long program, attracting nearly 150 participants, including representatives from policy-making agencies, domestic and international business associations, international arbitration institutions, lawyers, legal experts, specialists, and media organizations.

VIAC Rules of Arbitration 2026

The VIAC Rules 2026 enters into force from 1 July 2026 and shall apply to the arbitral proceedings commenced on or after 1 July 2026, unless otherwise agreed by the parties. Arbitral proceedings pending before VIAC under the Rules of Arbitration in effect as of 1 March 2017 (the "VIAC Rules 2017") shall continue to be governed by the VIAC Rules 2017
