On the morning of November 26, 2025, at the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-UL), the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) and VNU-UL took place with the participation of Prof. Dr. Le Hong Hanh – President of VIAC, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet – Acting Principal of VNU-UL, in the presence of representatives from both institutions as well as domestic and international partners.

Overview of the Signing Ceremony
Attending the ceremony on behalf of VNU-UL were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet – Acting Principal of the University of Law, VNU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh – Vice Principal; along with representatives from several departments of the University and partner organisations participating in the event.
Representing the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) were Prof. Dr. Le Hong Hanh – President of VIAC; Mr. Vu Anh Duong – Permanent Vice President cum Secretary General of VIAC; Mrs. Tran Bao Ngoc – Deputy Director of Promotion and Training Department of VIAC; Ms. Vu Thi Hang – Deputy Director of Secretariat of VIAC, together with other members from VIAC’s professional units.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet, Acting Principal of VNU-UL emphasised that the cooperative relationship between the two institutions holds significant meaning in continuing to implement the University’s development strategy, especially in the current context of international integration. He also expressed the desire for practical, effective, and diverse cooperative activities between the two sides in the near future. He highly appreciated the role of VIAC and believed that, with its team of more than 200 domestic and international arbitrators handling nearly 500 disputes annually, VIAC would bring valuable practical contributions to the University.

In response, Prof. Dr. Le Hong Hanh – President of VIAC expressed confidence that this cooperation would be realised beyond the signing through concrete activities. He also shared that VIAC is always ready to accompany and support the University in achieving its teaching objectives, especially in providing the knowledge and skills necessary for alternative dispute resolution (ADR) to lecturers and students.

In the context where arbitration and alternative dispute resolution methods are increasingly important in international commerce, the signing of the MoU between VIAC and the University opens up opportunities to strengthen practical cooperation in training, research, and capacity building in commercial dispute resolution. The MoU also provides a foundation for implementing programs that combine academic and practical elements, helping connect the training environment with professional requirements and affirming the position and quality of activities of both parties in the coming time.
