Arbitrator of VIAC in UNCITRAL Trade Law Forum

Dr Nguyen Minh Hang, Dean of the Faculty of Law (Foreign Trade University), Arbitrator of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC), Steering Member of the CISGVN Group, in UNCITRAL Trade Law Forum, Incheon- Korea, 16-17 May 2016

In the session on Legal Education for Global Economy, Dr Hang and other experts from Australia, Japan, HongKong and India discussed about the importance of introducing international trade law, especially UNCITRAL and HccH instruments, in legal education. The panelists also shared about the benefits for law schools and students in participating in the CISG Vis East Moot.

Dr Hang presented how international trade law was incorporated in the legal education curriculum in Viet Nam and the need of applying practical method and activities (simulation/moot court/moot arbitration) in the international trade law training. For this purpose, Foreign Trade University cooperated with VIAC in collecting arbitration cases to be used in the moot for law students.

Beside, in the Forum, Dr Hang also presented CISGVN Group- a private initiative of studying and promoting CISG in Vietnam and its Action Plan including organizing workshops, translating books  and CISG-Advisory Council’s opinions and, writing articles and books… FTU and the VIAC involve actively in the CISGVN Group.
